Please describe your diversity programs and initiatives Our North America Diversity and Inclusion Committee works in conjunction with our recruiting effort to broaden our reach to minority, women and LGBT law students. In North America, we have distributed close to $2 million in scholarships to minority law students and our offices are engaged with a number of organizations designed to broaden the pool from which we recruit. We encourage our lawyers to become involved with diversity and inclusion efforts in their offices. Some of our lawyers serve on Diversity and Pro Bono Committees, while others choose to get involved in recruitment outreach efforts. Each of our professionals brings a unique interest and a unique potential to contribute to the Firm.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is demonstrated by our diverse global talent pool as well as a firm culture which celebrates the diversity of our global organization. Baker McKenzie participates, alongside many of our clients, in a number of external organizations committed to fostering diversity in the legal profession. We leverage our relationships within these organizations, when possible, to involve our clients in our diversity and inclusion efforts. Doing so enables us to exchange practices with our clients and also engage them in new areas. Baker McKenzie’s diversity and inclusion efforts have been recognized by several organizations:
- In 2016, we were ranked among the Best Law Firms for Women by the National Association for Female Executives and Flex/Time Lawyers for the fourth consecutive year. Several programs contributed to our recognition including our flexible work options policy, telecommuting support, and formal mentoring and coaching programs.
- We have been recognized among the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality in the US by the Human Rights Campaign(HRC) for five consecutive years in recognition of our perfect score of 100 on the Corporate Equality Index, the HRC's annual survey of employers.

We are proud of our many accolades in the area of diversity and inclusion and we remain cognizant that our journey in this area is far from over.
