Please describe your diversity programs and initiatives We strive to have a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and that fosters a sense of belonging.

We promote diversity and inclusion through our culture, practices and community partnerships. We endeavour to empower and to create change through education, resources and activities that recognize and celebrate our diversity as well as our common bonds. The firm’s Diversity and Inclusion (“D&I”) Committee works to foster and maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace through a broad range of activities, including internal and external events, complimentary webinars, firm sponsorships, policy development, training and resources. In the recruitment, retention and advancement of our people, we strive to eliminate barriers and to ensure equality of opportunity for every member of our firm.

Aird & Berlis LLP has implemented an Employment Standards Policy in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The firm is committed to:

• ensuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunity of access to employment opportunities and related services as do all prospective employees and employees; and
• meeting the accessibility needs of people with disabilities, in a timely manner, in its human resources practices, processes, policies and procedures and employment related services.

The firm works with firm members with disabilities to develop and document individual accommodation plans, which set out the accommodations that are needed to make their jobs accessible (e.g., text-to-speech software, modified job responsibilities, graduated return to work following medical leave).
